The Ending of Brave New World

What did you think about the ending of Brave New World? Why do you think Huxley ended it that way?

  1. I think that the ending wasn't good because at the end John hangs himself making the last saver useless. I think that Huxley ended that way because when someone is trying to fixed a society it doesn't work if he does it by himself but instead with a lot of people supporting the cost.

  2. I didnt like the ending at all. I didnt like it because John hangs himself. I mean what kind of ending ends like that? Huxley did that because its better for John to hang himself instead of someone killing him.

  3. Like previous statements, the ending wasn't such great as anticipated due to the johns suicide. Although the scene in which John, bernard, his friend, and Mustapha Mond had an intellectual conversation made it easier to understand why their society was so oddly governed. I also enjoyed the fact that Mustapha Mond had shipped Bernard out because if he had not the book wouldve probably be more lenghty and less enjoyable to read.

  4. The ending in my opinion of this book was not what i expectd like what most of the people here have said. I expected it to end differently but i can see why Huxley ended it like that because John really didnt have a place were he could be happy so in the end i guess it was better for him.
